Water scarcity is among the most urgent global challenges of the 21st century.

Today, over 2.5 billion people lack reliable access to safe drinking water. Each year, approximately 12 million hectares of fertile land are lost to desertification—an area comparable to the size of Bulgaria. By 2050, the United Nations projects that up to 5.7 billion people, nearly 70% of the global population, may experience water stress, as arid and semi-arid regions expand to cover up to 45% of the Earth’s land surface.

Against this backdrop, Aqua Clear Solutions (ACS) was established to deliver practical, scalable, and sustainable desalination solutions designed for real-world deployment in water-stressed regions.

ACS is powered by the innovation ecosystem of EUREKA BI5 Brussels, a recognised European research and development platform with a longstanding track record in advancing proprietary technologies into commercial and humanitarian applications. Founded in collaboration with European institutional frameworks and operating under international patronage, EUREKA has supported hundreds of inventors across dozens of countries and stewarded over 1,200 proprietary technologies, many of which have progressed into applied industrial solutions.

Building on this foundation and more than 15 years of dedicated research, ACS has developed a patented, solar-powered desalination platform designed to convert seawater into safe drinking water at scale. The system is engineered for deployment in both humanitarian and infrastructure contexts, with a focus on resilience, modularity, and off-grid operation.

Beyond water production, ACS solutions are designed to generate broader socio-economic impact—supporting agricultural stability, enabling local employment, and strengthening economic resilience in water-scarce regions.

ACS Technology Platform: The ACS system represents a next-generation approach to sustainable desalination. It integrates multiple advanced subsystems into a unified hybrid architecture:

  • heliotropic solar concentration mirrors

  • a central Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) tower

  • high-efficiency photovoltaic (PV) modules

  • an advanced thermal distillation chamber

This integrated design enables continuous, solar-driven water production while minimising reliance on external energy infrastructure.

Access to clean water is a foundational requirement for human and economic development. Through applied innovation, strategic partnerships, and responsible technology deployment, ACS is committed to enabling sustainable water security in the regions that need it most.
