ACS Board Appoints Dr Valery Ivanov as Head of the ACS Group R&D

The ACS board are delighted to announce that veteran scientist and holder of multiple global patents, Dr. Valery Ivanov, Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences has been appointed as the Head of Research & Development here at ACS.
With a distinguished career in research and development, Dr. Ivanov has led pioneering work resulting in a broad portfolio of global patents related to materials science and sustainable environmental technologies as well as the world of master-level chess. His commitment to innovation bridges academic excellence with real‑world impact, establishing ACS R&D as a recognised leader in solutions that address critical water challenges worldwide.
Under Dr. Ivanov’s leadership, the ACS R&D team will develop in the coming 18 months, multi‑disciplinary technologies that improve water purification, increase resource efficiency, remove plastics and enable scalable treatment systems adaptable to diverse industrial and municipal needs.
These breakthroughs will be protected across multiple jurisdictions, reflecting a strategic approach to intellectual property that supports global deployment and commercialisation. The R&D portfolio demonstrates not only high‑impact scientific progress, but also practical adaptability—enabling partners and clients to implement state‑of‑the‑art water technologies in markets from emerging economies to developed infrastructure systems.

Looking ahead, Dr. Ivanov is spearheading an ambitious expansion of ACS’s technological footprint through collaboration with AquaClear Solutions Europe (www.aquaclearsolutions.eu).
