At Aqua Clear Solutions, our mission is to deliver scalable, sustainable desalination solutions that democratise global access to fresh water.
As we build strategic infrastructure, attract investment, and pursue regional and global deployment, one of our most important early strategic decisions has been where to establish our corporate headquarters. After careful evaluation, we chose Cyprus — and specifically the Paphos region — as the ideal base for our global operations.
This decision reflects not just business pragmatism, but alignment between our mission and the opportunities offered by Cyprus’s corporate environment and regional partnerships.
A Strategic Corporate Environment
Cyprus offers an exceptional corporate environment that supports international business growth. Some of the most important advantages include:
Business-Friendly Tax Regime: Cyprus features one of the lowest corporate tax rates in the European Union (12.5%), supported by an EU-compliant and transparent fiscal regime that makes it particularly attractive for companies with cross-border operations. The jurisdiction also offers extensive double-taxation treaties, favourable intellectual property and dividend tax treatments, and efficient tax planning mechanisms that can improve global competitiveness.
Pro-Business Legal and Regulatory Framework: The legal system in Cyprus has strong foundations in English common law and provides high levels of certainty and protection for commercial ventures. This familiar, stable legal framework reduces risk for international investors and multinational companies while supporting efficient incorporation and corporate governance.
Gateway to Europe and Beyond: Strategically located at the crossroads of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, Cyprus offers easy access to major markets with seamless connections to the EU single market. This geographical advantage is particularly useful for companies with global ambitions that need a base with credible access to multiple regions.
Skilled Workforce and Quality Infrastructure: Cyprus has a highly educated, multilingual workforce with strong competencies in business, technology, and services. English is widely spoken in corporate settings, facilitating global communication. At the same time, infrastructure — from telecommunications to transport — supports modern business operations.
These combined attributes make Cyprus not only an attractive jurisdiction for registering a company, but a strong base for headquarter functions, strategic management, investor engagement, and regional coordination.
Alignment with Our Strategic Goals
For a technology-centric company like Aqua Clear Solutions, Cyprus’s mix of tax efficiency, legal certainty and EU access provides both operational and reputational advantages. The island’s growing profile as a hub for innovation, sustainability initiatives, and fintech further complements our belief that Cyprus is a forward-looking host jurisdiction for companies addressing global challenges.
In addition to corporate considerations, Cyprus offers an excellent quality of life, which supports talent attraction and retention — a practical advantage for any company building sophisticated teams while functions grow and diversify.
Partnership with the Government of Paphos
Beyond general corporate advantages, we are particularly proud of our strategic partnership with the Regional Government of Paphos. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to sustainable water solutions and regional resilience.
We have formalised an Offtake Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the regional government of Paphos — an important milestone that underscores local trust, mutual strategic objectives, and deployment readiness. This type of partnership enables coordinated planning, aligns our pilot and commercial deployments with local priorities, and positions Paphos as a model site for demonstrating scalable desalination technology.
Water scarcity and supply reliability are key concerns for Cyprus, especially in coastal regions like Paphos where seasonal demand and long-term scarcity trends are driving government and utility priorities toward desalination and resilient supply solutions. The Government of Cyprus has already been moving decisively toward broader desalination capacity as part of its water-security strategy — including mobile and permanent desalination units — to meet rising demand and drought exposure.
Our MOU supports these objectives. It aligns our technology deployment with regional infrastructure planning and supply needs, creating a structured framework for offtake agreements as our systems are deployed at scale.
Looking Forward
Headquartering in Cyprus — and building a strong relationship with the regional government of Paphos — positions Aqua Clear Solutions at the convergence of business opportunity, regional necessity, and sustainable impact. The corporate environment enables us to operate effectively on a European and global stage, while our local engagements strengthen our ability to deliver tangible water solutions where they are needed most.
As we move from pre-launch phases into expanded development and deployment, Cyprus will remain central to our strategic growth and our vision for equitable water access worldwide.
